Map

Soma Bay - Egypt

Is located approximately 45 km south of Hurghada Airport, right on the cost of the Red Sea with its crystal clear water.

When it comes to dive sites, Soma Bay offers some of the Red Sea's best kept secrets. A chain of isolated and breathtaking reefs with dramatic drop-offs and plateaus teaming with characteristic marine life. From Ras Abu Soma to Old El Kebir, you can dive seven pristine sites rich in corals both on the shallow down wind side or the exposed northern side, which often offers views of great pelagic activity. Further out, Panorama to Abu Kefan offer even more excitement. Ras Abou Soma and Tobia Arbaa, a steep exterior wall merges into a 25 m plateau adorned with huge and majestic table corals, leading to an excellent cave decorated with soft corals and glass fish pinnacles. At Ras Abu Soma, and during the months of March and April, there is a great chance to see grey reef sharks, white fox reef sharks, leopards and with a little luck, even hammerhead sharks but mantas can also be seen there at times.

The house reef
The house reef is the coral formation that is closest to the hotel and adjacent to the coast. A bridge of 420 m extends directly from the dive center to the reef edge. For easy access to the reef, transport is carried out with electric cars available for transport of equipment and divers. A large turquoise blue lagoon lies in front of the reef and provides protection. This "House Reef" has spectacular wildlife from the smallest to the largest creatures. Barracuda, turtles and eagle ray are some of the inhabitants of the reef.
