Map

Daedalus, Fury & Elphinstone

Daedalus & Fury Shoal
The Daedalus Reef is a huge reef formation that lies at about 180km south of Brother Islands. The reef is surrounded by a sheer wall all around, featuring a plateau on its southern side that goes from 28m beside the reef to 40m on the edge of the drop-off. If the weather is good, try to get as far north as possible and drift along one of the sides of the reef. Reef and hammerhead sharks are often spotted here. UW marine life is here more abundant than anywhere else, with schools of surgeons, fusiliers, carangids.
This diving safari also covers the coastal section of the southern Red Sea offering stunning diving on a huge variety of reefs, walls as well as hard coral gardens teeming with fish life.
Shaab Sataya, the largest reef system in Fury Shoal, has it all – shear walls, ancient amphorae and yet another possibility to swim with big pods of friendly and playful spinner dolphins
Shaab Abu Galawa Saghira with its wonderful hard coral garden in the shape of an amphitheatre is truly memorable
Some of the best dives are made in the early morning when you are most likely to find hammerhead and grey reef sharks circling around the tips of reefs such as on the north plateau of the famous and exposed reef of Elphinstone with its shear walls covered in soft corals

Liveaboard Experience

A liveaboard diving cruise gives you the opportunity to experience the Red Sea at its absolute best. No matter which route you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Dive into warm, clear waters surrounded by vibrant coral reefs, fascinating marine life, and thrilling wrecks. Combined with the comfort of the boats and our experienced dive guides, this trip will be an unforgettable diving adventure.

The Journey

We fly to Egypt/Hurghada either via direct charter flight or Turkish Airlines via Istanbul. The boat departs the harbor the next morning, with the first dive before lunch. We do 3–4 dives per day, including night dives. After 6 days of diving, we return to the marina. The last night is spent on board, docked at the harbor. After breakfast the next morning, we check out and transfer to the airport for the flight home.

Meals Onboard

Guests enjoy three meals a day, plus snacks, fruit, soft drinks, fresh water, cookies, tea, and coffee. The menu consists of a variety of Egyptian dishes featuring meat, fish, and poultry along with a wide range of salads and vegetables. Vegetarian guests are well catered for, with ample salad options and dedicated vegetarian meals when requested in advance. Beer and wine can be purchased onboard.

Diving Details

We dive 3–4 times a day. On the final day, two morning dives are followed by our return to port by 3:00 PM. On routes involving marine parks, a maximum of 3 dives per day is allowed, in accordance with regulations. The last night is spent either onboard or at a hotel. Two experienced local dive guides accompany the trip, in addition to the regular crew. Tanks, weights, and Nitrox are available onboard free of charge.

Equipment Rental

The trip includes use of 12-liter tanks and weights. We recommend bringing your own dive equipment. If you need to rent gear or a larger tank, rental is available locally. We are happy to forward your request to the boat operator.
