M/V Emperor Explorer
Built 2019 she brings a class of her own to the Maldivian waters. Emperor Explorer is a contemporary, spacious liveaboard where fine accommodation and service is standard. This 42 metre boat easily accommodates 26 guests in 13 well-appointed ensuite cabins all with air-con. Add to that her Spa, spacious diving and relaxation areas and she's a winner.

  • Upper deck cabins: 2 king-size double and 2 twin
  • Main deck cabins: 2 double with a single bed
  • Lower deck cabins: 5 double with a single bed and 2 double

If you are travelling alone, double with single bed cabins can be booked on a twin share basis with one guest using the double bed and the other the single. To guarantee the double bed a supplement of €35 per week is charged. When the cabin is booked by a couple the single bed can be used as a sofa. A supplement is charged for the Upper and Main deck cabins.

  • Enjoy open air dining area at the stern of the main deck. Several sofas and tables await you inside the air-conditioned saloon for relaxing or watching TV. A complimentary glass of wine is served with dinner.
  • The upper deck boasts a covered, open area ideal for watching photos and footage from your diving or just relaxing, star gazing and soaking up the wonderful Maldivian ambience.
  • The sundeck is perfect for catching those sunrays or having a reviving nap.
  • All diving is done from Emperor Explorer's large dhoni (tender), giving you more living space on board and getting you to the perfect dive spot every time. She offers free NITROX, all diving and safety equipment and four dive guides.
  • Non-divers are very welcome and get a free snorkelling kit + $50 voucher to spend on board.

South Central Atolls

Looking for action? Speedy drift dives, mantas, sharks and diving several atolls? Our guides and crew make it their business to make sure you see mantas and sharks as well as potential magical creatures coming out from the depths of the blue.

January to March is the time to join us as this is when the current in the Kandus is largely incoming from the east. There's a good variety of diving from thrilling channel dives to more relaxed diving inside the atolls on Thilas or Giris.

The best thing? There are few other boats as we visit atolls that have very few resorts and lots of uninhabited islands so liveaboard competition is low.

Hammerheads are often found in Thaa as well as whale sharks who visit our boat at night attracted by the krill, which, in turn, are attracted by the lights. When the currents are running well, the channel dives here are outstanding. Abundant with schooling snappers, jacks, barracuda, white tips and greys, grouper, Napoleon wrasse, turtles, eagle rays and more.

You will either join your liveaboard in Male or Laamu (Kadhdhoo), and then it's off on our adventure.

This itinerary has a lot of drift diving so it's best suited to more advanced divers. With visibility being really good in the southern atolls, this is ideal for photographers and videographers looking for larger Pelagic action.

North Male Atoll: Beautiful Pinnacles.
South Male Atoll: Grey Reef Sharks, Eagle Rays, Other Pelagics, Beautiful Macro Wreck.
Vaavu Atoll: Beautiful channels with magical soft corals and pelagic delights. Action packed night dive with Nurse Sharks and others.
Vattaru Atoll: Pristine coral reefs.
Meemu Atoll: Beautiful channels with pelagic action, Sailfish, Grey Reef Sharks, Eagle Rays and beautiful soft coral. Manta cleaning station.
Thaa Atoll: Hammerhead Sharks, Whale Sharks, Dolphins, Traditional Maldivian Channel Diving.
Laamu Atoll: Beautiful fish filled channels with great shark encounters.

This itinerary is not for beginners and most dives will involve going to depth and diving with currents. All diving is made from dhonis to give precise entry and exit points. We recommend a minimum of 100 logged dives to join this trip.

 

Liveaboards in Maldives

Liveaboard is definitely the best choice for the ultimate dive trip in the Maldives. Liveaboard gives you the opportunity to enjoy many different dive sites on the same trip. You make up to 3 dives per day and all food is included. Your holiday begins immediately after arrival in Malé Airport. Here you will meet our representatives who will help you with the transfer to the boat, a short boat ride followed by a welcome drink. Wellcome on board!

On a Liveaboard vacation in the Maldives, you will stay on board throughout your dive holiday. You can also choose to combine your vacation with a few days on a Resort island or fly home immediately after the cruise ends. The boats have both twin-bed cabinets but also double-bedded cabins. You make up to 3 dives daily. Full board, tea, coffee and water are included as well as bottles, weights and diving services. There is diving equipment for hire if you do not want to bring your own.  During the week and on most of our tours, you will also be offered a barbecue evening on a so-called "Desert island" (If weather allows).

The temperatures are stable: highs are around 30 °C (86 °F) and lows around 25 °C (77 °F) for most of the year. Relative humidity is high and stable throughout the year as well, around 80%. However, between February and May, there is a slight increase in temperature, and even in the feeling of sultriness, especially in the northern atolls, given that in this period the maximum temperature rises to 31/32 °C (88/90 °F), and the minimum temperature to 26/27 °C (79/81 °F).
